   FYI - You may need the latest version of the iPhone firmware and iTunes for this to work.

   Thanks to all for visiting. We’ve moved the actual file to a high availability server so hopefully everyone should be able to download it.

   The process is Garage Band is remarkably easy. Big win for Apple. I’ve shared this with a bunch of friends today and they are very happy and excited to have custom ringtones on the iPhone again.

    Hey I just tried this with 1.11 and it iTunes 7.5 and it says that the file can not be copied because it can not be played on the iPhone?

    Suggestions?

    It doesn’t appear to work with older versions. Someone else had the same issue and it worked fine after they updated.

    On old firmware you just need to rename the file frome m4r to m4a
    (transfered to iphone using IToner)

    @ Sam : Right click on a macbook : Hold ctrl key and hit the button attached to the track pad!! Better yet, go to Sytem Prefs -> Keyboard and Mouse - > Check the checkbox that says ‘Tap Trackpad using two fingers for secondary click” . Now just hit the trackpad with 2 fingers (at the same time) to get a right click!!

    It wont work, it needs to be less than 30 seconds to work with the latest versions, this is too long to work as a ringtone

    Still works for me with the latest updates. Also, Garageband will not let you export a ringtone that is longer than 30 seconds, so it should be that size already.

    I’m a new iPhone owner and had the 24 ringtone on my Blackberry 8830. I spent 2 hours this AM trying to get the ringtone and all the sites want to rip you off by charging a monthly fee. I came across your website early this evening and was so pleased to be able to download the ringtone. I am 63 and trying to keep up technologically………..thank you

    So I downloaded it to iTunes and it synced with my iPhone and I even selected it as my custom ringtone but it doesn’t work. I get that mamba crap when the phone rings. What did I do wrong?

    Thanks! For MAC folks, download to desktop, change file name by deleting .txt on end of name. Then say yes when computer asks are you sure. Double click on file, it should auto load into your ringtones folder.

    No thank you so much - at last!! I just got my new iphone 3g and have wanted the ctu ringtone ever since I saw the first season. And now, hopefully, I can get it on my iphone. I am really excited.

    Now, if someone wanted to make me very happy, I have been after for years the original sound for the Pearl and Dean ident. Does anyone know if this was ever made as a ring tone??

    Hi,
    Never been able to download the file.
    On my MacBook Pro with Mac OS 10.4.11, the link displays as a very long webpage full of garbage.
    Already have a CTU Ringtone on my desktop that was on my Blackberry. Changed the extension for .m4r and another for .m4a
    iTunes 8 refuses to import any of them.
    Anyone can help me?
